Alma Brooks, Wolastoqwey
Alma Brooks is a Wolastoqwey Grandmother, who is physically, linguistically, spiritually, culturally, and genetically connected to the traditional homeland and unceded territory of the Wolastoqewiyik, and identifies her ancestral lineage back to 1700 on the Wolastoq. Alma is the Atlantic Regional Elder Representative for NWAC, is a sweat lodge keeper and traditional medicine practitioner, and holds certifications from Saint Thomas University, the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, the Nechi Institute, and the Society of Aboriginal Addictions Recovery.

Laura Greenwood, Cree-Métis
Laura Greenwood was born in Treaty Six in Edmonton Alberta as Cree/Métis. The Greenwood family has roots in Maskwacis (Bear Hills) in Alberta. Her father is Cree-Métis and her mother is of Irish heritage. Laura draws inspiration from her aunt, Senator Margo Greenwood, whose research, advocacy, and authorship in Indigenous Health have paved the way for meaningful change. She is committed to reconnecting with her culture, learning from the People whose land she is a guest upon, and fostering respectful, trusting relationships.
Laura is a proud mom, auntie, and surrogate. Laura is raising her teenage son as a single mother currently in New Brunswick as she recently graduated from New Brunswick Community College as a Human Service Practitioner. With prior education from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Psychology in 2011.
Laura is a survivor of Breast Cancer, having had treatment in December of 2023. Currently in remission since August of 2024, Laura was inspired to connect with and assist people navigating their healthcare to include personalized holistic wellness.
In her downtime, Laura enjoys going for walks with her dog, photography of mushrooms and forest floor fauna, swimming and camping.
