Menahqesk
Wellness Circle

The Menahqesk Wellness Circle supports urban Indigenous people in Menahqesk (the Saint John area) with access to traditional ceremony, healing and medicines, as well as access to contemporary social supports and community.

Through community feasts, drum circles, cultural workshops, and seasonal gatherings, the Menahqesk Wellness Circle creates a welcoming space for connection, learning, and healing. Guided by Elders and Knowledge Keepers, it strengthens cultural identity and supports holistic wellness for Indigenous peoples living in the Saint John area.

University of
New Brunswick

At UNB, the Mi’kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre (MWC) plays a vital role in nurturing Indigenous identity, culture, and connection. Located on Wolastoqiyik traditional territory, it provides space and support for Indigenous students, offering cultural resources, knowledge sharing, events, and teachings that strengthen ties to Wabanaki histories, language, and traditions.

Through its work, UNB (via the MWC) doesn’t just offer academic programs — it fosters community, belonging, and cultural resurgence. Click here to learn more about UNB and the MWC.
